Protecting Drains

Property flooding can also occur from the back-filling of sewerage pipes, causing flood water to enter via downstairs toilets and showers, plug holes, dishwashers, washing machines etc.

The traditional solution to this problem has been to excavate a new manhole outside the property and fit non-return valves to the existing pipes to eliminate the possibility of backflow. This can be expensive and time consuming.

The Watertight International Non-Return Valve (NRV) simply pushes into the end of a 110mm/4” drainage pipe in an existing manhole chamber.

There are two versions available, one for fitting to plastic pipes and the other for clay, salt-glazed and concrete pipes.

Equally as effective as the traditional solution the valves can be fitted in minutes and do not require any specialist expertise or equipment.

Manufactured in the UK from uPVC, the NRV for Plastic Pipes is WRc certified tested to BS EN 13564 (anti-flooding devices for buildings).

Due to their unique design, these non-return valves are truly “fit and forget” products. They require no power supply and will automatically respond to any flooding event by closing automatically.
